I am most passionate about helping men navigate the challenges of 21st century living.

Online Therapy for Men Looking for Help with Anxiety, Perfectionism, Low Self-Worth, Trauma, Burnout, and Personal Growth.

I’m Damon Neely — Licensed Mental Health Counselor, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and founder of Join the Rebellion 23 Inc. I work exclusively with high-performing men navigating perfectionism, burnout, imposter syndrome, and proof-based self-worth. Through Character Driven Therapy, we go beneath the performance to the identity patterns driving it — and build something more stable underneath.

I provide online therapy in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Florida, New York, South Carolina, Connecticut, Illinois, Utah, and Idaho.

A Different Kind of Therapy

Most men who find their way here aren’t falling apart. They’re functioning — often at a high level — and that’s exactly the problem. When you’re performing well on the outside, nobody asks how you’re actually doing. And after long enough, you stop asking yourself.

The anxiety, the perfectionism, the burnout, the self-worth that collapses the moment results slip — these aren’t character flaws. They’re patterns. And patterns have origins. The work we do together is about understanding those origins and changing what drives them — not just managing the symptoms.

Character Driven Therapy (CDT)

My approach is grounded in Character Driven Therapy (CDT), an integrative clinical framework I developed specifically for high-performing men. CDT is built around a central premise: lasting change requires working at the level of identity, not just behavior.

It’s not enough to manage anxiety symptoms if the underlying architecture of proof-based self-worth keeps generating them. CDT goes beneath the presenting problem to the character — the values, the self-concept, the relational patterns, and the internal narratives that organize a man’s experience of himself and the world.

In practice, CDT draws from several evidence-based orientations:

  • Psychodynamic therapy — exploring the origins of your patterns and how early experiences continue to shape your sense of self beneath your awareness
  • Existential therapy — engaging the bigger questions about who you are, what you value, and what kind of man you actually want to be
  • CBT and ACT — developing concrete tools to interrupt unhelpful thinking patterns and build psychological flexibility that lasts
  • Solution-Focused and Narrative therapy — identifying what’s already working and reauthoring the stories that have kept you stuck
  • Emotion Focused Therapy assisting in learning how to identify the underlying emotions you may be suppressing and develop strategies on how to regulate and confront them

Sessions are direct, collaborative, and built to produce both insight and meaningful change. You won’t just talk about your life here. You’ll work on it.
